Christmas Day 2008

The kids were very kind to Mom and didn't get up too early. In fact, they went into Pepperkakor's room and waited until Dad woke up. Mom is really tired these days since Snickerdoodle is just two weeks old on Christmas day (and because he stayed up till 1 am on Christmas Eve!) We finally got going at 8:30 in the morning (Snickerdoodle was still sleeping):

We opened up our stockings, and Sugar & Spice were thrilled to get their own little makeup sets.

Our tradition for Christmas morning breakfast is usually to have something different than we had the year before. That's cause we haven't found anything that we love to have more than once! Last year we had turkey breakfast sausage, cornbread & honey and orange julius drinks. This year we kept the turkey breakfast sausage and had breakfast puffs (basically plain muffins dipped in butter then rolled in sugar/cinnamon made by Pepparkakor) and orange juice. It seemed to be a pretty good Christmas breakfast, maybe we'll have it again next year.

After breakfast, we opened up the presents! Pepparkakor was thrilled to get her own digital camera, Oatmeal got a Fuzion Scooter, Sugar & Spice got coaster cars, and Chocolate Chip got a 12 gauge shotgun, which Dad will be sharing with him. Dad's favorite was a TV converter box. Of course we ran out of batteries in both cameras so we don't have great pics.

Snickerdoodle was our own cute little Santa.

For Christmas dinner we had delicious kettle-fried turkey breast roast (thanks to my mom who wanted to make Christmas dinner easy.) With it, we had stuffing, mashed potaoes & gravy, corn & store-bought rolls.

Later we visited Grandpa, where Dad hooked up Grandpa's tv converter box just in time for Wheel of Fortune.

And below is the aftermath of the makeup set:
